our mission

Christian Leaders for Africa(CLA) was organized in 2002 at the request of the trustees and administrators of Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology(NEGST) who were seeking a structure for communicating and expanding their U.S. network of friends and donors. Then Vice-chancellor David Kasali and Deputy Vice-chancellor George Renner invited individuals who had visited NEGST and demonstrated interest in providing support for NEGST students and faculty to form a board. This board proceeded to incorporate as a U.S. non-profit organization and to recruit an executive director. Bi-annual meetings of the board are held in Indianapolis to which NEGST officials have been invited. Board members approve the funding initiatives that CLA undertakes on behalf of NEGST.
